As summer is winding down, it is easy to think about all of the things we missed out on. Festivals, concerts, weddings, and state fairs had been cancelled in an effort to stop the spread of the pandemic. While we have been sad to miss these events, there was a refreshing simplicity to clearing our calendars.

One summer favorite the pandemic did not take from us, is going on a picnic! As simple as that sounds, there is something so special about packing a little basket with your favorite foods and heading to one of the many beautiful spots in our Pacific Northwest area. My family loves going down to the new Dune Park near Point Defiance and sitting by the water with sub sandwiches and chips.

This was not the summer we had planned, but that does not mean it cannot still be shared in special moments with our family and friends (with proper social distancing measures, of course). There is still a little summer left, so pack your lunch, grab some friends, and head to your favorite outdoor spot. You will be so thankful you did!

Last month we celebrated the Carriage House progress with a handprint ceremony.  All seven of Laureen's grandchildren were able to set their hands in the ground floor of the Carriage House. We celebrated with all the Wren & Willow staff, our architect Paul Akiyama, of Akiyama Architects, and bank partner, Debbie Webber, from Coastal Bank. Celebrating this milestone was important to us and we are glad we can share some photos of our special day with you.
